Brookfield Police Dispatch received a 911 call at about 2 p.m. Friday from a hiker who had became injured during a fall, police said.

Members of the Brookfield Police Department, Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company and Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department Candlewood Company Inc. responded to the scene.

After a brief search, the hiker was located by EMS personnel in a remote swampy area of the park that was inaccessible by vehicle, police said.

The injured hiker was then moved by ATV to a waiting ambulance and transported to Danbury Hospital for further treatment.

"The Brookfield Police Department would like to recognize all of the organizations that were involved in this successful rescue, which would not have been possible without the cooperation of everyone involved," the police department said in a Facebook post.

No further information was released on the extent of the hiker's injuries.
